Our Story
Built to last.
Founded on purpose.
VARSEN was founded on four principles — excellence, integrity, craftsmanship, and purpose. We believe anything built to last requires a strong foundation, and that conviction shapes everything we make.
Where It Started
Built on principles
that last.
VARSEN began with a simple belief: anything built to last requires a strong foundation.
Inspired by the universities we celebrate — institutions built over generations on tradition, scholarship, and community — that belief shaped the principles behind VARSEN from the beginning: excellence, integrity, craftsmanship, and purpose.
Those principles influence how we approach everything we do—from the quality of our garments and the craftsmanship behind every detail to the way we build partnerships and serve the communities we represent.
VARSEN was created to bring a more refined standard to collegiate apparel—one that honors university heritage while designing for where life takes you after graduation. We believe the things worth carrying forward should be made with intention, built with quality, and designed to endure.
Our heritage is our foundation. Our craftsmanship is how we honor it.
What We Stand For
Four principles.
One foundation.
Craftsmanship
Heirloom construction over fast production. Premium fabrics, embroidered crests, and details finished by hand — built to be worn for decades.
Excellence
No shortcuts. If it isn't made to the highest standard, it doesn't carry our name. Heirloom quality is our baseline, not our ceiling.
Integrity
We do what we say — in our materials, our prices, and our promises. Trust is earned one truthful detail at a time.
Purpose
Every piece, partnership, and community we serve is guided by a reason larger than apparel: honoring a journey that began long before us.

Handcrafted Details
Every chenille patch is individually cut. Every stitch is intentional.
How We Build
The craftsmanship
behind every piece.
We don't print logos on cheap blanks and call it a day. Every VARSEN garment is built using techniques borrowed from heritage knitwear makers — the same methods that produced the varsity sweaters of the early 1900s that are still worn today.
450–500 GSM Fleece
Over twice the industry standard weight. Brushed interior, structured drape, built to hold its shape for years.
Hand-Cut Chenille
Each appliqué is individually cut, positioned, and chain-stitched — just like vintage varsity letterman jackets.
Hidden Heritage Details
Concealed 'Once a Retriever' messages, woven labels, and embroidered university shields that reward the attentive wearer.
Antique Brass Hardware
Silicone-dipped zipper pulls, tonal eyelets, and hardware chosen for patina — not for cost savings.
